Anti-SLAPP: The Musical
Anti-SLAPP: The Musical or The Texas Citizens Protection Act, Take 2: How Legislative Changes to Texas’s Anti-SLAPP Law Will Affect the Civil Litigation Landscape
This program explored the Texas Citizens Participation Act, which was originally enacted in 2011, and the ways in which Texas courts have struggled to understand its scope. It examined the Legislature’s decision to amend the TCPA in the spring of 2019, and how those amendments might reign in a statute many believed to be an albatross. The presenters did this by performing a Broadway-style musical, complete with four songs and a story centered on "Lucky Charms Lawprechaun"--a cereal maker who finds himself sued for trade secret misappropriation.
