2026 National Conversation on Civility: Standing Up for the Rule of Law in America

An examination of the challenges we face as legal professionals calls for a hard conversation about our roles as lawyers in fostering civility and professionalism while advancing the rule of law. Grounded in these bedrock principles of the American Inns of Court, Justice Rich Gabriel (Colorado Supreme Court) and retired Judge Russell Carparelli (Colorado Court of Appeals) help us understand the interplay between civility and professionalism and how as legal professionals we can—and must—stand up for the rule of law in ways that are values-based and nonpartisan. Join us for this critical discussion about the future health of our shared calling and what we can do to improve it!
