Bankruptcy Distinguished Service Award

The American Inns of Court Bankruptcy Distinguished Service Award recognizes a judge or attorney who has practiced in the field of bankruptcy law and whose life and practice display sterling character and unquestioned integrity, coupled with ongoing dedication to the highest standards of the legal profession and the rule of law.
Recipients are selected by a national committee of the American Inns of Court and the award is presented each fall at the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges.
How to submit a nomination:
Nominations must be submitted using the
online nomination form.
Please note: The nominee must be alive at the time of nomination.

Deadline for nominations:
- The online nomination form must be submitted by June 1. Additional materials sent separately must be emailed or postmarked by June 1.
How recipients are selected:
- Recipients are selected by a national committee of the American Inns of Court. The selection is typically made by June 30.
When and where the award is presented:
- The award is presented annually at the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges. The recipients are also recognized at the American Inns of Court annual Celebration of Excellence at the Supreme Court of the United States.
